Moving the Needle: Measuring the Impact of your Data

It has become a cliche of business that data is an asset. But data without analytics is a wasted asset. And analytics without action is a wasted effort. So, how do you know you are getting value from your data and analytics investments? Who will analyze the analysts?

Remarkably, relatively few businesses have a good handle on their analytics ROI. In this session, we will explore how you could be thinking about the value of data investments and the metrics and indicators that may help you to understand its impact. But we’ll also show, with useful examples, that you need to be wary of managing to the metric rather than taking a holistic view of value and actionable intelligence.

Start with the People: A Shot at Improving the Data Adoption rate at your company

In this session, you’ll learn about two approaches to improve the data adoption rate at your company.

The science approach: Work to ensure transparency. Make a habit of declaring the content of the analysis.

The human approach: Support the majority of your employees who work in a different domain than data-understanding, by focusing on data literacy and the culture around putting data to work. And make sure to get your management on board.
